Jim Wallis- one of this days most prophetic progressive Christian voices has one of the more interesting blogs I've run across. This video is on it:
Love to hear your thoughts on it...

I was impressed with how the southern baptist representative and even slightly disapointed that he did not play to my prejudice when he didn't give the ABC's of conversion when talking about what it is to be a Christian. Jim Wallace is consistant with his message of evangelism through social justace and showed that same theme there. I thought that the Theology professor did a nice job of pimping Obama, but did a poor job of avoiding the Homosexuality issue with saying Jesus was vauge on the issue.
Some very good thoughts in that piece, and this is coming from a Conservative.
1) It's nice to hear another voice, besides my own, question why modern Christianity has pinpointed homosexuality as "the sin"
2) I'm in complete agreement with the statement (paraphrasing here, it's 3:46 am, give me a break) "God doesn't hate prosperity, it's inequality that He has a problem with". I think that's something we should all remember. It doesn't matter if you agree with trickle-down or raise-up policies and procedures, or a mixture of both. The bottom line is seeking out that equilibrium. I thought the man who said that put it very nicely.
3) Spread the Gospel without imposing it. Wonderful. See my blog about two posts ago for another take on imposing it.
4) Good to see three men with varying views of the world and the Gospel activing civil. It gives me hope.
5) While there were good points made, this is obviously not Gospel. I'll have to watch it again to pull out all the bad, but for instance, it's hard to agree with a guy who says things like (again, paraphrasing) "Jesus didn't mention it, so we don't know what to do, even if it might be mentioned elsewhere in the Bible". This is like saying "well, it's in the textbook, but the professor didn't mention it in class, so it must not be true or important" or saying that there is water, but not ice or water vapor.

Still, a very good clip with more good than bad.
